Here we have a battered and brushed BR Standard Class 4, with some damage to the eccentric crank and rod.
Further inspection revealed brake rodding damaged both on the loco and tender. Several areas of paint work damage, missing lamp iron on the tender.
First things to do is strip the loco down to chassis components and remove the eccentric crank, check to then see the motion running.
Also checking the opposite side for any issues.
We then repaired the eccentric crank and it’s fixing arrangement, then carried out running checks.
Now for some cosmetic touch ups, new lamp iron made, fitted and painted. Various areas of paint touch ups, varnish applied with some weathering powders.
